Gabrielle, a committed photographer, tells us about her collaboration with Brau.

” We fix with words; we open with the photos ” likes to remind us Cécile who accompanies us on the artistic part in BRAU. There is something very intimate about finding the person who can have the same eye as the one we imagine. After looking for several artists, we finally meet Gabrielle Gayraud through her Instagram account . Her series on artisans and farmers touched us greatly. The light is what we feel in Brau. And this is the start of a great collaboration.

An agronomist by training, Gabrielle quickly turned to photography. Attracted by photography since her childhood, her vocation was revealed at the Rencontres Photographiques d’Arles. With a great sensitivity and thanks to her contemporary influences, Gabrielle likes to evoke the senses, talks about atmospheres, play with scales and textures. Photography has several components: technique, eye and passion. Gabrielle adds the human relationship with her clients. Gabrielle tells us about her journey and our collaboration on Brau:
“In 2018, I am creating my own company that I will quickly put at the service of artisans and professionals in the agri-food sector. Community to which I belong and feel concerned by human values. My goal is to showcase the know-how of producers so that they can communicate. In a world where image is inevitable, having quality visuals is essential to differentiate yourself as a professional.
In September 2020, the first exchanges begin with BRAU. “Remarkable ” is the adjective that marked the first discussions. ”
The mission was therefore to make unconventional photos, which impact the readers.

“ It was on a beautiful autumn day that Fabien welcomed me to the BRAU estate . We started with the visit. It was the perfect moment to understand the history of these lands, the different needs of the vines, the future developments of the estate … It allowed me to soak up the atmosphere of the place and the issues on all levels. When Fabien told me about the project, I felt I was fully part of it. We then attacked the production of the photos, Yannick joined us. What I particularly appreciated was the collaboration of ideas and the humorous tone of the team. Everything happened very naturally, from one idea to another. We played with points of view, light, the use of furniture and even movement to bring photos to life by occupying space. For example, while Yannick was maintaining the huge tanks, I climbed a stepladder to be at the right height and find an unusual point of view.
At the end of the day, we went to the vineyards, to the most beautiful viewpoint of the estate. It is a piece of paradise, in which you feel peaceful with a wide view of the landscape. In the production of the images, I wanted to translate the climate, both mild and warm, which testifies to the warm and friendly spirit of BRAU . I also wanted to express the strength and rootedness of the project through a rendering with detailed and contrasting features.
Working with BRAU is an opportunity to carry out a large-scale project while expressing human, creative and responsible values. ”
